Debt Clearance Scam Alert: Verify Before You Pay

You Contact Us — We Don't Cold-Call You for Business

We want to alert our clients and members of the public to a potential debt clearance scam involving individuals who may claim to be associated with debt-clearance services or our company.

We recently became aware of a situation where a consumer was contacted by someone claiming to be from a debt-clearance service. The consumer was told to pay R4,000 over two months to have a “red flag” removed from their name.

When the consumer asked what would happen to the remaining debt, they were unable to provide a clear explanation.

Fortunately, the consumer did the right thing — they stopped and contacted us before making any payment.

Our Important Message to You

YOU CONTACT US — WE DON'T COLD-CALL YOU FOR BUSINESS.

Our clients contact us when they need assistance with their debt situation.

We do not make unsolicited calls to members of the public offering debt-clearance services or asking them to make payments.

Our ONLY Official Number

Call: 057 352 4115

WhatsApp: 057 352 4115

If someone claiming to represent us contacts you from any other number, please treat the communication with caution.

Before You Make Any Payment

If someone contacts you claiming they can “clear” your debt, remove a “red flag” or improve your credit profile, stop and ask questions before paying anything.

You should always understand:

  • Who is contacting you?

  • Which company do they represent?

  • How did they obtain your details?

  • What exactly are you paying for?

  • Who will receive your payment?

  • What happens to your existing debt?

  • Will you still owe the original creditor?

  • What documentation will you receive?

  • What is the total cost of the service?

If the person cannot clearly explain the process and the outcome, do not make the payment.

Protect Your Personal Information

Never give an unsolicited caller your:

  • Banking passwords

  • OTPs

  • PINs

  • Online banking login details

  • Card details

  • Other sensitive security information

Be particularly careful if someone is putting pressure on you to make an immediate payment.

Knowing your name, debt information or the name of a company you deal with does not automatically mean that the person is authorised to act on your behalf.

What Should You Do If You Receive a Suspicious Call or WhatsApp?

STOP. VERIFY. THEN DECIDE.

Do not make a payment simply because someone tells you that your name will be “cleared” or a “red flag” will be removed.

Save the communication and take screenshots where possible.

Then contact us directly using our official number:

057 352 4115

Calls & WhatsApp

Do not use the number provided by the person who contacted you to verify their identity.

Your Financial Situation Deserves Clarity

Debt can already be stressful. You should never feel pressured into making a financial decision without understanding exactly what you are paying for.

A legitimate debt-related service should be able to explain the process, costs and expected outcome clearly.

If something doesn't make sense, stop and ask questions.

Don't let a stranger make a financial decision for you.

STOP. VERIFY. THEN DECIDE.

If you have received a suspicious call or WhatsApp message claiming to represent us, please contact us directly on 057 352 4115.

Please note: This notice is intended to raise awareness and protect consumers. If you are unsure whether a communication is legitimate, verify it directly with our team before taking any action.
